Canon 5D Mark II Stolen During Wedding

Would you leave $1500 lying on a table while you went elsewhere, no, its got a strap keep it around your neck or at least in full view, I put nothing down anywhere, whether I'm using it or not, makes for an uncomfortable day if its hot but not as uncomfortable as losing the shots and equipment makes you feel. H

That's $2500 just for the body. I'm sure it had a lens, probably and L. At least another $750.

I am paranoid about my camera equipment and don't let it out of my sight ever.

I know this sucks. My car was broken into a few years ago and some of my tennis racquets were stolen.

I want a 5dm2 so bad... but not bad enough to steal one. Shameful, sorry to hear about your bad luck.

Relatives are just people you wouldn't otherwise know so why trust somebody else's?

Things walk away from weddings all the time which is another reason that the prices are so high.

Not really up on canon prices there or here, I don't look at inferior equipment. Apart from cameras going missing at weddings, (quite common) I've had brides tell me later wedding presents went missing. H

Sorry to hear that. Ive never had anything taken from a wedding, but i have come back with more in my bag then when i left. A few weeks ago i got home to find that some kids had filled my bag with toys from a box at the back of the church.

Theres a reason the wedding couples' gifts are kept under guard or locked away when unattended. This little tip is also for those who are thinking of getting married.

Camera straps are your friends.

I wouldn't be calling anything inferior with the quality of the photos on your webiste. :meh:

If I ever do another wedding, i will be buying a "cotton carrier" and have a pouch for batts, cards and flash. Thats all I will be bringing with two cameras each with a lens.

Not as bad as the garbage you post here. Anyone who knows about web shots know they are of inferior quality purposefully, I don't use the web to give my work away simply a sample of the style, not that you'd know much about that, besides they're all bought n paid for on there and it'll be off shortly so no big deal. H

I could say something about your lack of style, the generic look of your photos, and how they look good for straight out of the camera JPGs, but I won't.

Anways, you're being a little defensive when some one says something about something of yours being inferior? Maybe next time you'll be nicer and some one won't have to hurt your feelings again.

That sucks. Hope it turns up, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I was at Mayhem Festival last month with my wife, my 7D and a Canon 70-200 f/2.8 L that I literally picked up on the way to the concert. After the show I went to bathroom and left wife with my stuff. I come out of the bathroom and she's talking to two dudes with her back to my camera sitting on a table.

I calmly walked by, picked up the camera and walked away and took a couple of picts of her chatting it up and realizing it was gone, and she will not forget that feeling for a long, long time.

Now I leave my camera hanging on my shoulder when I'm in there.

talk about teaching her a lesson lol....

That's exactly what they are, batch resize, adobe gallery. Feelings intact, it takes more than a goon taking snaps of some bird in a shopping cart to hurt my feelings, bet that was your best seller, a big zero. H

And you're going to keep going on about it? I'm taking those shots for my friends for fun, and even then I make sure they have good quality photos when they want to share them with their friends.

But I guess I couldn't expect anything less from some one that's going to go around randomly bashing some one's equipment.

I mean, this poor guy starts a thread about his $2500 camera being stolen, probably with a lens that cost at least $750 connected to it, and you call his equipment inferior? What are you shooting with? I'd be ashamed to say a Nikon D3s, Canon 1Ds MKIII, Hassleblad, or any other camera that cost $7000+. After all, I can't say I have a lot of respect for some one's photographic ability when they're using a $7000 camera to shoot SOC jpg photos to advertise their work...or a lot of respect for the ill informed customers of that person.

Ed: This actually reminds me of a situation about a month or so ago where a friend of mine was shooting with a Canon t2i and using my 24-70. The guy next to him at least had a Nikon D3 and they were photographing some band playing behind one of the local bars on a Sunday afternoon. Some one randomly ask the friend with the t2i is he's doing it professionally, or what. The person asking was a local that kind of knew him. The guy next to him with the Nikon D3 looks over and says that you can't be professional unless you have a rig like "this" and holds up his camera and lens.

Kind of reminds me of that guy ^^.

People like that should do the world a favor and stay hidden in their basements, because their wonderful attitudes are doing nothing for the future of photography.
