I just stumbled across some rumored specs of the MkIV. If these are somewhat accurate, would you wait for the MkIV and spend extra money, or just buy the MkIII?

5D Mark IV rumored specs:
  • 24MP full frame sensor
  • High ISO features, ISO 100-51,200, extended to ISO 50, ISO 102,400, ISO 204,800
  • Dual Pixel CMOS AF III
  • New and more advanced AF system
  • 4k video recording with new video features
  • Anti-flickr technology (seen first on the 7D Mark II)
  • Improved continuous shooting speed
  • To be announced in August, 2015

I just found a reliable eBay seller who is selling the MkIII with 24-105mm for $2,599. I think I'm going to do it!

Meh I'd get one just to meet customer demand for 4k

I won't be dealing with video much, if at all. But what do you think of the MkIII with 24-105mm at $2,599?

Great video lens, decent still lens.

I mean if you only had one lens this would be the one to have.

This will be my first lens that I play around with until I upgrade. I've heard it's a good starting lens, and there's a lot of good deals for the MkIII that includes this lens.

Your talking about a 24-105mm L lens and playing with it until you upgrade. The speed of that lens along with the ability of the 5d3 may mean you won't want to upgrade. I had this with the original 5d and only changed it out because it failed (I bought it second hand and think it was intermittent fault on purchase but became hard fault later)
