What's new

carrying camera with you.

I dont bring it daily at work since i work in IT in a secure building with no camera allowed and i wont leave my gear in the car for too long with me being there.
I usually bring my bag with me on weekend or whenever i go off work.

I'd love to take mine with me. But in Missouri you've got high highs and low lows in temperatures and my truck does nothing to protect it. Sometimes I risk it, other times I dont.

Interesting comment. What about cell / smart phones? Just about all of them have a camera built into them. Are those not allowed as well?

No here we aren't allowed to bring any electronics into the building even. I mean everybody does it but no cameras, phones or anything like that on the floor.
I don't know what kind of IT environment Ghache works in but.

I always carry a compact camera and my phone with me, but I only take my DSLR when I know I might wanna or am gonna take pictures. It wouldn't work to carry it with me all the time, since I'm a girl... I have a giant bag, and quite a large camera bag...

Desiree you can always put the camera itself with a versitile lens in your bag?

:) I'm a girl, which means my giant bag is already chock-full without my camera and lens ;) Still, it is of course an option, but then I'd have the feeling I'd have to take all my filters, spare battery, spare memory cards, etc, so I'd just as well take my whole camera bag. I'm complicated like that.

To work, No.Never did. Most places I've worked were in a busy medical profession, no time to take pics ( or rights). Never really anywhere to lock anything up...People would probably jack my Sh*t, and I'd have to kill them :biglaugh:Any other time i try and have it on me at all times. Seems like when i dont ( like last night--the Moon . bah ) I always miss out on something great! Used to carry a P&S in my purse/car, but i got suckered into giving it to my mother. Now i need a new one. haha.

I work in Aerospace and we are not allowed to cameras on site. Interestingly however, the company cellphone that I have has a camera in it.

My camera/laptop bag comes with me everywhere I can possibly take it. It comes to work, it comes along on visits to family and friends, it comes on drives. I try to leave it behind as little as possible and about the only time I do is when it's just not practical to carry it around (like going for a walk to the store or something).

just like some mentioned i usually carry mine, but when its not convenient or practical i just carry a point and shoot. like i would never carry my camera into a bar or club, just because i wouldn't want to keep tabs on it every second.

Current job doesn't prevent cameras. I carry a Panasonic TZ5 or the LX3 with me everyday. Sometimes I go out for a drive and snap a few photos.

Often, the card is filled with pictures of a whiteboard discussion... borrrrrringg.....

I try to carry it as often as I can. For awhile I would keep my old XTI and kit lens in a small bag in the back of my truck. That allowed me to have it whenever I wanted it. With the summer coming up and the fact that I ride my motorcycle as often as I can I will probably just have the point and shoot on me more.
