carrying camera with you.

i try to take it with me whenever i go out! there are times though when for whatever reason i cant and it always ends with me seeing a photo i want to take.

I always tell people who ride with me in the front seat (2001 VW golf) that if they call shotgun they have to have my camera bag on their lap. Now they all call pistol for the back seat haha.

Someone already commented on the car situation given the temperature changes in their state. In Montana, it's proving to be a lot different scenerio than San Diego where I'd keep my camera in the car at all times. Montana doesn't allow for that but I'm working on building my own insulated box to help with this situation. Seems like the best picture opportunities come at times when one lacks a camera. So I do my best to always have it nearby.

Yeah good call. I passed this barn/grocery store on my way to my girlfriends house, there is a huge tree which always has 3 bald eagles in it. I passed it 3 times and didn't have my camera on me. So next time I pass I got it.

I used to want to bring my camera everywhere but quickly realized that I didn't want to use my DSLR as a walk-around because I figured my snapshots(about 90% of my walk-around shots) weren't worth bringing my DSLR for. Not to mention that I missed so many opportunities to capture a moment cause I didn't want my DSLR out or couldn't get it out in time. So I sold the 18-105 and picked up a point and shoot instead. It's convenient to have around(and out) at all times.

I come back with my DSLR and a more thought out plan to take a picture of something if it's worthy.

Same with me! It's with me a lot but if it's hot or cold outside I usually leave it.

I only bring my SLR & lenses if I know I'm going to use it. I have a smaller camera (that can fit in my pocket) that I usually take with me 'just in case'.

I have my 7D with me everywhere! If possible I take my bag with equipment with me as well but if not it's just camera and 1 lens at the end of my Blackrapid strap

I usually only take my DSLR with me when I know I'm going to use it. There have been some occasions where I miss the perfect shot because I left my camera home. My current camera on my phone sucks, and my plan is to buy a phone with a decent camera to bring with me all the time.

I have carried my P&S camera for months on end, recently I've stopped carring it with me because I'm over loaded with my Notebook and my drawing tools.
