The first one looks way over processed to me. Maybe dial it back a little?

Other than that I think they look good.

No worries...especially if that's what she wanted. Women are always right.

C&C per req:

1. Agree, the processing is way over the top on this. Understand that the client may have indicated that she liked it, but what did she have to compare it to? Did you provide her with a more conventionally processed image as well? Aside from that, the main issue I see here is lighting. Your key is probably 2/3 stop too hot. You needed either a fill image right, or a reflector up and right to reduce the shadow, especially on her left eye.

2. Lighting is much better here; not really to my taste, but it's not bad. I do think though that your monochrome conversion could use some work. It's way too mid-tone rich. Try some contrast increase and curves adjustments to get a less grey skin image.

Thank your for the advice.....And yes, I gave her my edit, and this edit you see here....I'll try what you suggested on the B/W conversion....appreciate it.
