Critical comments required

I have done a few photo shoots and wedding shoots, but working in Aperture for the editing now instead of Photoshop and just wanted to have some feedback.

Try to keep it constructive.

I thought English was not his first language because of " required " thing. Then I check he is from UK, now I do not have any explanation for that .

From what I can tell the white balance seems good and the contrast is nice, but what I don't like is how smooth both of their skin looks. Just looks a bit too retouched to me.

I dont see anything to criticize in this photo. Exposure and focus looks dead on.

This is really just a touched up casual snapshot, the pin-point flashes in his irises don't help the impression.

Thanks for the feedback. The Traveler was exactly right. It was a casual snapshot I used just to practice. My main aim with this was to work on producing a more magazine style edit, as generally I keep my images as unedited as possible, but every now and again I get someone wanted a highly edited image and because I don't generally do that type of imagery & always think it looks over done. So worked on trying to get a balance between what I normally do and the style the person wants.

Glad the levels were okay.

Flushed with success, I will ungratefully add that you missed focus.
Note that the hair on her shoulder is in focus, his beard and left eye are also but the focus fades badly rearwards.

If you're going to clean up the skin, clean up the blood vessels in his eyes and the spots on his lips while you're at it.

Also, those of us who DO speak english as a first language are often aware that "required" has meanings other than "compulsory"
