Only if you want sharply focused primary subjects in your video.

Sort of like above. Why would you not want a "sharp" lens? If you want an "unsharp" lens, you can defocus any sharp lens to that point. If you're working in a digital format, you can always create the effect of a blur in post processing. You can't really improve the lower quality lens when you desire a sharper image. Yeah, you can mess with the resolution in processing, but that's not the same thing as having a well defined image to begin with.
