Drag Race

I have been to a drag race today and here are a few of the photos taken there. I honestly enjoyed shooting other things than the race it self. C&Cs are always welcomed

True But you can't immagine the noise, it is much louder than F1 by far! so I was fine up there

BTW, if I had the chance I would have ran down there

This car is crazy, alot of smoke alot of fire. Believe me if you don't look at it you think there is an airplane taking off just next to you. Have a look

lol.. i felt the same, although I like Canon but I was jelous for him having to Nikon big boys and just sitting down there have a look

I shoot the drags all the time!!...with how much i've spend renting 70-200 2.8 lenses I could have bought one by now. Nice pics.

I really felt the importance and need of it today. I already took a dicision to buy the 580ex flash, refloctors and a soft box then not to invest in anything untill I save for the 70-200 2.8.

It is teasing to see it everywhere, you know its color can't be missed and tells you here I am

I know!..I shoot at brainerd and now will be shooting at the mile high also. Up until now I haven't bought one because i would only use it twice a year, but now i've been turned on to it for my band photography so thinking of makin the plunge

Really nice series. I especially like #2 and #3.

I like how the background of #3 is made up of various tire marks, etc. In my mind it almost looks blurred like the entire platform that the photographer is standing on is in motion or something. It's not, but the background marks are really nice with the foreground composition you've selected. Well done.

IMO, you wont regret buying it as you will be able to shoot in it other things than the two events you mentioned. That is iff u can afford it especially you will be renting it again and again.

It's not, but the background marks are really nice with the foreground composition you've selected. Well done.

I agree, the marks made it look like a nice background.. Thanks to this machine (i don't know what it does but it was moving between races )

it cleans the track. With top fuel cars running any type of fluids or debris on the track can cause them to spin tires. If your really into shooting drags shoot me a pm. My uncle runs a top comp car and I can get you some cool passes. you can't go down where the photographers shoot at, but you can go right behind the staging area. you will pretty much be about 20 feet or so behind the burnout area on the track.

It would be really cool to be that close. However, I am on the other side of the world I am in Abu Dhabi , UAE. The only track in here is Yas Marina Circuit. Lately F1 race is being held in here also, I have been there two consecutive years and now my first drag race.
