Drag Race

didn't realize that....no prob......do you have any shots of the cars moving? thats where the true test lies.......anybody can take a shot of a dragster sitting, shooting one at 300mph+ is a different story!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!......

Sure I got some action, but I didn't post as I was really disappionted that I forgot the IS off by mistake.. so alot of photos were not that good.. but here are some anyway ..

samerr, your post processing seems to have too much black I think. Plus I am not a fan of vignette on these type of shots.

Hey dude.. You are totally right I did add more blacks and very lil vignette (how did u notice? lol) But I did that as that as I tried to get you closer to the theme.

By the way, everytime I tell me self I should make it as natural as possible, but sometimes I admit I over do sometimes:) Thanks for the notes

Samerr, pan it next time!

I saw this and others of your work earlier.. all I can say they are stunning :)

The idea came to my mind, but I didn't dare as every 10 15 mintes one drag takes place and the cars were at like 250 mph. I will make sure to do that in the next F1 race by the end of the year :) Thanks for the helpfull tip

Samerr, doesnt really matter how fast it is going. The faster it is going, the faster the shutter to achieve the same blur. Personally I find faster speed to be easier on panning LOL. The cars i take only go like 35 mph max and I really think it is a lot harder.

lol .. I thought you got it nice because it is slower lol :P

But yeah it makes sence as if it was slow, the panning wont be that accurate and straight.. I promise, when I have the chance to shoot cars again, I will pan, post and wait for your response:)

Beautiful shots, but he's right, I'm sitting here jonesing for a good pan shot.

Well.. you can start by hooking some one up in your area ;) Me want passes! LOL

it cleans the track. With top fuel cars running any type of fluids or debris on the track can cause them to spin tires. If your really into shooting drags shoot me a pm. My uncle runs a top comp car and I can get you some cool passes. you can't go down where the photographers shoot at, but you can go right behind the staging area. you will pretty much be about 20 feet or so behind the burnout area on the track.

I have to jump to bed now it is 3:30 am here and Sunday is the first day of work in the week in here.. I promise you I will make a good edit tomorrow with the pan effect.. just not to keep you all waiting for nothing lol :)

Goodnight guys..

I work in a leading media company and if I nag I might get access to alot of events.. But I don't as I am in the Finance, it seems I will start nagging soon lol :)

All of my racing shots are still hundreds of miles away on a different hard drive!!
