Mixed these two together for a change. We call them wax eyes although silver eyes is becoming more popular here.

So a bit of a mixed bag with the smaller birds.

1: Tight crop of a Chaffinch

2: And another Chaffey with another tight crop

3: Little Waxeye (love these little ones)

4: Another view, green background is an out of focus house roof

5: Hmm, yummy grub for dinner

6: A Goldfinch coming in

7: Heavy in the crop area this one and taken with the 800mm, still too far away. Next time.

Sony NEX-7, Canon FD 500 F/4.5L or 800 F/5.6L. A couple in there with Panasonic G2 and 300 F/2.8L

All the best folks as always :)

I like #1 the best...it shows a bit of drama on its face and the sharpness is excellent there. I was more concentrated on its head and its back downward. She is a cutie. The BG colour really makes this one for me. #6 and 9 are good ones too with the 6's landing. That was a good capture. #9 -- if this is all white, I'd say she is an angel bird. Stunning blur of its feathers.

#6 and 7 are the winners for me. Although, as always, they are all gorgeous. They look like paintings.

That painting effect is why I don't post these up much Barb. Some like and some don't. I think it comes from that green background, its not something that looks natural and that's where I have issues with it. If I moved the camera slightly, it would end up with trees as a background and should look more natural. That would appeal to me more. Too much green and yellow for my liking to be honest ;)

All the best folks and thanks.

Danny.

I totally get what you're saying. But I think its a nice change from all your other gorgeous bird pictures. Its a nice effect from the environment and I think these are beautiful.

I appreciate your work, the color is alive. TFS! (Thanks for sharing)

I hear what you are saying about a more or less sterile bg Danny but these birds are so well done that you could put anything behind them for a bg and they would still be outstanding 8-)

My fav is #3 & #6, specially the goldfinch in flight is just wow!! I am running out of words for your photos Danny, I may have to try out another language next time just for a change ;)
