I've been going to air shows for years but this is my first time with a camera. It's way more challenging than I thought.

Very well done! On your first outing for something where timing is critlcal, a mirror-less has one particular problem not found in DSLRs or SLRs -- the display is a bit delayed. That much is enough of a problem that Some people will literally come home with "nothing".

Thank you. I did get a bunch of cut off noses and tails. I'm looking forward to taking what I learned to the next one.

These are a great series of photos! The detail is impressive, and the blue sky makes the plane stand out.

Yes great shots mate! someyears back I was involved as designer of a Sport Jet RC model with an 8 foot length Jet turbine.
Found it hard to get the the exposures right, though it was with 'old tech' metering. Obviously it was metering for the bright blue sky!
Yours are excellent.

Great shots, and you even avoided freezing the props! :encouragement:

Little soft. I like em a lot.

I completely agree they are a bit soft. It's all on me. I'll get plenty of practice on birds before the next air show.

Did you notice the F-18 going vertical is RCAF? I was surprised to see them at a US Air show.

Yep. Yep there is a competition each year for the best airforce pilot in north america. Canadian pilots usually win.

What I meant, is that you could sharpen the image in post. Like I did in Photoshop.

I've been playing with some of my photos in Lightroom. I haven't really gotten into PS yet. I've been trying to get a little time every morning while I have my coffee to learn the Post processing end of it.

Hmm. Interesting. If those are Canuck, are they old Hornets? I don't think Canada got the Super Hornets. I can't tell unless they are both in the same picture. The Supers are noticeably bigger.
