Photos OK to edit
Went to a fathers day car show at a campground, my brother was there so figured it would be a cool to show up. This was my first time taking photos at a show in a year like 11 and half months. I was feeling really rusty but also kinda enjoyed it too.

All taken with a Nikon D750 + 50 1.8G

Nice artistic shots. But I do sometimes miss not seeing some shots of entire vehicles.

I rarely take full shots of cars unless I think the background is good enough or if there is room, and minimal distractions. In this case the grass was quite high and just took terrible to me. I also don't like grass for car photos and prefer paved parking lots more for car shows. So when none of these meet my criteria, I typically take artistic and detailed shots of the cars. Hopefully that makes some sense!

We had a bunch of older cars from a club come through town years ago I I got excited to shoot them. Was really interested in full shots of them so did that, Your are certainly right, old cars alone have normally crummy backgrounds. Only decent photo's I ever managed of old vehicles were broke down one's sitting where someone dumped it. Wish I'd have tried to get people to move their cars the better spots but never thought of it! I think a big problem with me and cars is mostly they are a necessary evil! Imagine walking everywhere you went! I believe to get good photo's you need to like the subject better than Ilike cars!
