Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
God, I'm exhausted.

I've been MIA from here for a week or so and it's been because of working on a shoot I just did recently.

I go to work... come home... work on photos... pass out. Go to work... come home... work on photos... pass out...

So anyway...

I FINALLY got the very first image done of this set and I wanna know what ya'll think just so I know what to keep in mind as I go through the rest of them.

I'm also trying to learn some "retouching" methods and what not, so I'm going to post the "original" vs. the edited version. The reason I put "original" in quotation marks is because it's not quite SOOC. It's my preliminary editing, if you will, in LR before moving over to PS and going at it... It's not SOOC, but it's un-retouched, if you will.

Anyway... C&C as you please.

Thanks!

I think you need to balance out the skin tone of her legs with up top. Looking at it some more I guess you could leave it. Im on a crappy laptop at the moment so shouldn't be surprised if its me thats off. Her legs look cool compared to the top. What other edits did you too. I'm looking but don't see the obvious.

Yeah, I did notice that. I'm not really sure how to go about fixing that... it was like that SOOC. Any suggestions?

I retouched her face, dodged and burned here and there, and "reshaped" her arm a little. It's easier to tell when they're open in two different tabs that you can flip back and forth between.

Oh... yeah... and that "bulge" in the skirt of her dress... its' really just a fold created by her putting her leg up and the fabric sticking to it... it bugged me so I tried to "lessen" it. There were other shots that I caught it and we fixed it before continuing to shoot, but she chose this one as one that she wanted, so I had to deal with it.

I think the fact that it's not glaringly obvious shows that you did a good job for a photo like this. I love how vibrant her red dress is!

Thanks :sillysmi:

I agree, it is barely noticeable that you retouched her looking at the before and after which means you did a great job on keeping in natural looking, if I saw this without the before I could not tell. looks really good ! :)

Thank you :)

hmmmm maybe it's just my laptop screen, but her legs appear to be slightly magenta-ish :blackeye:

I agree.

Which is why, even though I told myself I was going to give myself a mental break and be done for the night... I went back and played with it again.

I used curves to try and fix it.

How's this?

It looks like two different types of light were on her face and legs.

The face is quite pale, and like already stated the legs are magenta/purple.

Did you use flash? If you did, was it top left? Maybe the light falloff towards her legs was too great and not enough reached there.

That's exactly what it was. I knew that when I saw it on the screen. I just wasn't sure how to remedy it at first.

I only used one strobe to the left, and like you said the light fall apparently off wasn't enough to cover her legs.

When you say her face is pale... do you mean just in my edit, or in general?

Much better, definetly looks more natural.

Haha, good.

Well it looks like she has pale skin, just as her natural tone. but because her legs are not lit enough, it seems to make her face more pale, if that makes sense...

Yeah, I gotchya. I'll have to play around with it.

Thanks for your feedback!

Thanks to *everyone* for your feedback. It's very helpful!:

It definitely looks better on my editting monitor this morning. Not as much tint as I saw on the z****ty laptop upstairs but your edit looks even better.
