What kind of portfolio is she trying to build - Model Mayhem (internet modeling) or a brick and mortar agency? The clothes, hair and posing are not very flattering for her endeavors.

I could give a crap about her clothes and hair for now. That'll come with practice and time. The whole point of the thread was to ask opinions on how to improve the photos and to get opinions on my first photoshoot using a model. I was looking more for opinions about the lighting and the photos themselves rather than the model. Not everyone gets everything right the first time they do something. It takes time. And with regards to her clothes, her shoes are badass, lol. We threw an outfit together and did the shoot somewhat fast because A.) I work full time and this was after a days work and was running out of sunlight. B.) She bought a new car and I shot that right after this. The next photoshoot we do together will be more planned out and more focused on her rather than the car too.

If you were looking for technical photography critique only, you may want to be more specific next time. Your first post left the impression that you were looking for general critique.

The model is the purpose of your practice. She is trying to develop a portfolio. You are taking those images. I would think her look and posing are equally as important to achieving great photos. Instead of regurgitating the same advice I wanted to comment on her look. My first post was determining what kind of modeling she was looking to do.

I gotchya. I'm not sure as to what kind of model she wants to become she's just trying to take a lot of photos and go from there I guess. My friends sister is involved with modeling and she is supposed to help us out next shoot. I think the girl that I shot is just trying to get out there and see the possibilities to make extra money. Your right about what you said I was just mistaken the first time I read the post. I'm here to learn so I'll take your opinion into consideration. I'm hoping to gather all the info people have talked about on this thread and have a better outcome on my second shoot with this girl.
