First work with a "model"

Well she is a model but she should be!

I am working on getting my posed people shots down to a science. This was a spur of the moment "shoot" that was initially me just testing lighting setup ups and we decided to have some fun with it.

Thoughts on lighting and poses?

Please note, I know I cut off elbows and the background is wrinkled

Yeah we were both busy laughing most of the time. She isn't a model so posing was new to both of us.

The lighting in the last 2 is too much for my liking, I love #4 best. Overall I'd say you have a great series here.

I like #5 and #6 the best as far as lighting goes.
1-4 are a little dark.
1, 3, and 4 are great poses.
a little more fill light camera right would help, otherwise a nice set.
just work on not cutting off limbs. 2 and 3 either shoot horizontal, or have her bring her arms in a little more. you don't ALWAYS have to be a slave to portrait orientation.

The eyes actually. Whoops I forgot these don't have exif.

All the darker ones are f/7.1, ISO200, 1/60th, 50mm.
The lighter are f/14, ISO200, 1/125th, 50mm.

They're a good start, but I agree with the above comments with respect to lighting. I would add, try and be more cognizant of your cropping; there's lots of amputated elbows & arms...

WAY under exposed. (Joking) #3 and #4 are my favorites. While I like 4, I have to wonder if there needs more space camera left?

Might have been more fun without the over shirt on, maybe? Im 51% kidding, but I do think a better choice of clothing would have helped.

Yeah I had a soft box camera left and reflector on the right.
