Getting into Macro with D7000

I just purchased the Tokina AT-X 100 PRO D. With that choice, I saved cash that I was going to spend on the Nikon Micro but now would like to get some lighting or flash equipment to use for Macro photography. Right now I do not have a OCF. Does any have any suggestions for lighting or flash for Macro photography?

I would buy an SB600; it's not the ideal macro light, but dedicated macro lights are really only good for macro work, whereas the SB600 will be useful in all types of photography.

I second the view of getting a regular speedlite flash for macro work - like Tiredon says its a very versatile tool that helps in pretty much any aspect of photography; whilst macro specific flashes are more limited in their scope.

I've got that lens and took a few handheld macros (more like 1:1.25 actually) this past weekend. I can post up some of mine as well. It might not give you the best indicator of sharpness though since I was using available outdoor light and no tripod.

Be far cheaper and lighter just to get a ringflash in that case Though yes the Nikon little flash system for close up work is rather impressive in its versatility.
