Good wireless flash

What wireless flash do you guys recommend? I found out there are wide different price ranges. Some far cheaper, and some far expensive.

Any manual flash will work; a Yongnuo flash & trigger is a good consumer combination.

Shall we presume that you are talking about a wireless trigger?

Your T3i can "wirelessly" fire a Canon 430EX II speedlite (the pop-up flash can function as a master.) But this does mean the T3i flash has to fire (it's not IR... even though you can also fire a 430EX II with an IR speedlite commander.)

Otherwise to do wireless flash, you'll need to buy a trigger and slave unit (e.g. Pocket Wizards, Radio Popper, etc.). You can also use less expensive optical triggers, but now you're back to having to fire the pop-up flash on your T3i to trigger the slave.

I will be hanging around a group of photographers late in the evening. We are going to jump and take pictures of ourselves while in the air. I'm looking for a wireless trigger just for fun and not a professional kind.

Get the new Youngnuos, they can also remotely trigger your camera. One for each off camera flash one for the camera and one to use as the trigger.
