Has anyone tried to shoot a meteor shower?

Just wondering if anyone has tried and had any suggestions, might be a clear night here, for once.

Yes, on several occasions on the very rare occasions I've had clear skies & remembered a shower was due.
I've typically used 30s exposures with a fast wide lens and using a static tripod. Shooting more or less continuously for an hour or so and only managed to capture one at a time.

Not very impressive I'm afraid.
