Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
I took these the other day by selecting my auto focus point and made sure to nail in on her eyes. When I uploaded them and allowed my program to show me exactly where the focus point was, it was dead on! yeay! I'm sure these are flawed still. They were taken indoors with just my camera and pop-up flash. I don't have any other equipment. VERY LITTLE editing was done!

FIrst one focus is on the ear. The rest look great!

THANKS!! Yeay!!!!!! lol

I really took the time to compose my shot and instead of just shooting quickly to assure I didn't miss something ang ending up getting alot of misses, I waited for the shot and focus to hit the right spot, and snapped!

Now you're started on the right path. Background blurring nicely. Keep working on this until it feels natural then get a better background and ocf with a diffuser for a softer light or bounce the light off the ceiling. It's nice you're down low but I bet you're still kneeling!
Keep it up, nice to see break throughs.

Nice pictures, but I would suggest changing the topic title... it kind of creeped me out seeing 'Nakey baby pics' with a smiley face

In that case, you have your own problems to deal with.

Focus is good, now work on lighting.

I hate to point it out but i see you blurred the background out with the blur tool. If you like a shallow DOF shoot with one. Otherwise the bokeh is not going to look natural at all. What lenses do you have? Good job on the focusing btw!

+1

Now try to do it with natural light and a defused flash.

You did indeed Atonement. You missed a couple of spots as well

As someone said above... keep working on your focus until it feels natural and then try getting your bokeh *in* camera :sexywink:

You're funny e.rose!! It's Amoment not Atonement! LOL!! ;)

Hey, thanks everyone! Actually, the bokeh' was from my lens except for number 2 in which I just embelleished it a little. I used my 50mm lens 5/1.8.

vtf: What is ocf and what type of diffuser? I can order them online, right? I'm working on "metering off"or bouncing the light off of things. Can you explain how to do this a little more? For instance, this was an in promto shoot so it was on my hard wood floors and in front of my door. However, the light was illuminating this certain spot really nice so I grabbed my camera. How do you bounce light off of the ceiling? Do you meter off of it? (by metering on the ceiling, depressing shutter halfway and then snapping the actual shot now pointed at my subject?)
I need to buy a difuser for my flash asap huh? What do you guys think/feel about a speedlight?

No offense taken by a suggestions, Sabrina and e.rose and everyone else. I am listening to them all and trying to apply! Jace....lololol!! I was apprehensive about posting them but I assumed the photos on this site were pretty protected. That is the only reason I opted not to allow others to edit them. I felt that I needed to warn everyone before they opened up the thread and saw nakedness! hahaha!

To bounce light off the ceiling you would point your flash up to the ceiling which you can't do with your pop up.

Bouncing light and metering off something is different. You would meter off your daughters skin but not bounce light off of it.

Tupperware can be a diffuser. Just put it over your pop up. OFC - off camera flash. A speedlight is a good idea. You can bounce the light with one when it is on the camera.

And after you meter off something (in manual) you let go of the shutter, then focus on your subject the way you normally would. If you keep the shutter pressed halfway down after metering then point it at the subject and take the picture - it won't be in focus.
