How much would you charge for this?

For commercial real estate I'd charge $700-2000 for something like that, but I charge less for other stuff... kinda depends on a lot of variables (which is why so broad a range).

I would probably charge about $500, but that's cheap compared to what a lot of people would charge.

To be able to set a price for making web use only images, I would need more information:

• How many images will be used on the web site?
• How many image impressions per month?
• How big will the images be? (400 px on the long side, 600 px, more?)
• How long will the images be used on the web site? 3 months, 12 months, 36 months?

To the OP, I recently picked up a gig while on a road trip. Since I was already in the area and my costs of travel and lodging were covered by the other gig, I shot 200 photos for $120. I am not a pro, but I cross referenced what other guys were charging at similar events and then cut that by 75 percent. The other guys were using much nicer equipment and photos were top notch. Since you're doing this guy a favor as a buddy I could see not charging him... but what I had to ask myself is at what point do I start charging? That is the question you really need to ask yourself; when do the free gigs end? Hope that helps!
