You are as good as anybody else. You may not like yourself but I guarantee you that somebody somewhere does. Maybe you have things to work on but stand up, you deserve to be seen and if somebody doesn't like it have them call me (check your pm, my number is in there).

Be the photographer, not the subject.......

Do not bathe, brush your teeth or use deodorant for at least 7 days prior to the shoot. You will not have to worry about being in the picture, others will solve the problem for you.

Show up naked and ask "is this the nudist colony alumni group shot?"...

Or...
Show up in a gorilla suit and ask 'which way the zoological society meeting?'...

(I know, I'll never make it in stand up comedy)


Or...
1. As mentioned above, hide behind someone else...if you can't see the camera, the camera can't see you, either. At least, hide about 50% or more of your face behind someone's big hairdo, big hat, or even a big plant. The bigger the group, the easier it is to hide.
2. Also, as mentioned, move quickly, perhaps as if you hear some fast music in your head and you are bobbing up and down, swaying, etc. However, outside on a sunny day, the shutter speed will be too fast to cause anything less than 100mph from blurring due to speed.
3. Once the photographer puts his/her eye to the eyepiece, be sure to close your eyes for a couple of seconds...or slip on a pair of Groucho Marx glasses and mustache. The small image of you hey see in the viewfinder probably won't noticed as unusual.

However, for family pictures, in laws, etc, I think you're stuck. "They" will always want to see your face.

Stand with your back to the camera........ or just grow up and smile.

Borrow a friends DSLR, set it up on a tripod, Manual Exposure, shutter speed 10 seconds at f22 No flash, ISO 100, slowly move your head back and forward during the exposure, Take the digital image to a photolab and get it printed 12"X6" portrait.
Cut out the eyes on the photograph, Borrow some elastic from your mothers top drawer, tie a 10" length from one ear to the other.
Position over head....and go to your photoshoot.

From a technical perspective, the OP would need to know what shutter speed the photographer was using to ensure moving fast enough to be a blur in the image.

If the photographer was using a shutter speed of 1/250 or faster the OP probably wouldn't be able to move fast enough to be an unrecognizable blur.
