Is this image alright to use?

Hi,

I am trying to take part of an image and use it for a print, quite a large one thinking of different possibilities either poster or canvas. Approx 1.2 x 1.8m.

As you can see i have taken the person on the bike and then attempted to cut him out and place him on a single colour background to match the sky. Is he cut out well enough for a print or would it look stupid? What about the colour, would using a single colour background like that look weird as well?

Any suggestions appreciated!

He is cut out well, but the edit looks odd. Way too much dead space.

Cheers for the reply, yeah it took a while so im hoping it will look alright!

About the composition, i thought it looked quite modern and original?

All personal preference i suppose, but as a large print i think it could work quite well stuck on a wall..

I think it looks odd to not have any surroundings or environment tying him in the picture. Looks really random. But to each his own.

I think it would look great on a poster. Its true that a part of the half pipe or ramp he was coming from would have been nice.
I say go for it.

There is little in photography that is truely modern and original.

I agree that the edit lacks any context to justify the composition. How is anyone to tell you didn't just take a vertical shot and turn it on it's side?

Or just cut the rider out of some other mundane shot, and just plugged it into this background or even the original.
