Looking to add a lens to my arsenal but can't decide

Funny as soon as I finished posting I found the Tokina ATX 11-16mm for $500 used and in mint condition here in town... Would that be a reasonable price?

Yes if its in excellent condition

I don't know why the Tokina is higher priced than that Tamron when the Tamron is a touch sharper, at least at mid range FL and f/16. Perhaps it's sharper throughout the other FL's and apertures. But for $469... it looks like a no brainer compared to the Tokina.... I have no experience with either lenses, maybe someone that owns one or the other can chime in.

Well I think I found my lens and at a pretty good deal too.

I'll be picking up a used, mint condition, Canon EFS 10-22mm f3.5-4.5 USM for $500.

Is there anything I should know or look for when looking it over? I'll be bringing my Camera to try it as well

Well i did it. I bought the Canon EFS 10-22mm for $500 and it's in mint condition. The guy used it 3 times and prefers macro and wildlife and wasn't using it.

Thanks everyone for helping me out with this process. Much appreciated.

Can't wait to try this thing ;)

use what you have. Two decent lens. You can shoot pano shots and blend them using just Photoshop Elements. People think the 18-55 and 55-250 are crap kit lens but both rate pretty well and can take some awesome images. If you shoot like crap the prime just make the crap look a little better. If you aren't shooting professionally for big bucks there's no need to spend big bucks on prime lenses unless just having the best is more important than how you really shoot. Ave your money for something else down the road like a fast zoom.

Learn to use all your tools (camera, lenses, and software) and you can be a master with just the "kit" goodies.

Have a great trip.
