Recently wrapped up the tree planting season. Pretty intense 3 months, long days and barely a day off. But now I can afford to reward myself :)

I have:

D7000
Tokina 11-16mm f2.8
28mm f2.8 ai-s
35mm f1.8g dx
50mm f1.8d
85mm f1.8g
Tokina 100mm f2.8 macro
70-200 f2.8 vr

Thinking a new body may be the way to go. D810 maybe? No used D800s around here as far as I know and I don't really want to pay duty/void the warranty by importing one. I've had the D7000 since 2010, it's been awesome but I think it's run its course. And my brother is interesting in buying it from me...

I did notice though there is a 200-400 f4 for sale around here. Rare to see anything interesting. I'd love an awesome telephoto for wildlife ... but then I read Thom Hogan's review on it and it didn't really make me all that enthusiastic. Anyone have any experience with this lens? I believe it is the newer one.

There is also a used Sigma 50-500mm lens for sale around here as well but I don't really think I want something that slow. coastalconn did have some great pics with it though...

D800/810/800E

Henry's via Ebay canada has a used D800 "demo" with 2K clicks for 2K with a 2 year Nikon warranty. You could buy that and the Tamron :) just saying..

Thanks for the research!! I looked on their website but forgot to look at their ebay listings. Unfortunately I can't seem to get on to ebay right now but I will keep trying. The D810 seems superior but hard to justify paying $1500 more for a minor upgrade.

Now about that Tamron, I'd never really considered it because of the slowness. Do you find it to be a problem? And how is the sharpness?

Ya but I just figured they were with the Sigma!

I got one of the first ones in Nikon mount..I've been shooting with it since the middle of May! Love it.. probably gonna sell my 120-300 f2.8 since I never use it anymore...

I bought it!! Thanks for the tip! Just what I was looking for but couldn't find.

$1400 cheaper than the D810 would have been. About yhe cost of that Tamron...
