macro lens help

IF you want to save money, it might be worth looking into either Sigma or Tamron macro lenses. I've got a Sigma 50mm Macro and am very happy with it.

The sigma 50mm macro is apparently a good lens for macro work -however it is budget line and I have read far more stories about poorer construction on this lens when compared to either the canon 60mm macro or the sigma 70mm macro. So I personally would try to avoid the 50mm macro,

The canon 50mm macro is also not worth getting at all if you are after proper macro results since it is not a proper macro lens. Alone the lens can get to 1:2 magnification but it needs a special adaptor to get to the full 1:1 magnification. However the price of both parts is more than the cost of a single lens option, like the 60mm and 70mm options.
