Mamiya 6 with 75mm

How many users are out there have noticed with their 75mm lens that it is not as "buttery smooth" as other lenses of this caliber? I'm considering buying this camera off of a person who says the camera is in excellent shape - but his only "small" fault is the lens is not as "buttery smooth" as his leica lenses - and he says that is what he prefers (and what I would prefer as well...) But I wonder how not smooth is smooth? Anyone else out there having any similar issues?

I had a Schneider once that was soft and crunchy with a creamy nougat center.

I have no idea how "buttery smooth" a lens is supposed to be. The only way to know is to try it out.
