Meet Susie...

Susie is Bocephus' Big sister, which is kind of a misnomer since he outweighs her by almost 80 lbs. I decided to get all of my newly acquired gear together and give it the whatfer. This is the first image I put through post.

Please offer any critique you would like, and don't hesitate to be brutally honest. I won't cry, and if I do you won't have to watch me do it, and I can pretend I didn't.

Main camera right metered to f/11, fill camera left metered to f/8 and separation 180 degrees from key metered at f/5.6... although in hindsight I probably should have bumped it up a stop. Camera set to f/11, s125, ISO 200

Very nice. I might consider pulling the highlights on her crown down a little, but overall, I think this is a good, solid, image.

Again very stoic this one... I wish I wouldn't have cut of the fur on the tips of her toes...

This one was just for fun. I get a big kick out of her bottom lip.

I wish I had more time (and more hands) to get a few more poses out of this one, but I needed to cook dinner for the kids.

Next time for sure. My wife is on a mission to get her to the groomers, so that would be a good time to set up again I suppose...

I take that as quite a compliment. Thanks! I have quite a ways to go, but I know more than I used to.

It may just be my eyes (seriously!), but is this pic a bit noisy?

I assume you're referring to the first pic in the OP? I noticed some weird artifacts in the background. They aren't there on the original, I wonder if it's a product of saving as a reduced quality file to upload here? Don't know. If it's the foreground you're referring to, thats the pattern of the black fabric for my BG.

It could be too even I suppose. Next time I get this set up I will play with it a bit more, and see what I can come up with. Thanks! I will be sure to give her a treat for you.

Hi OP, yep, it's the first pic and it must be the pattern on the fabric that I mistook for noise. I thought the dog was on black paper. As for the other distortions, It's probably from the upload process.
