What are people's opinions on these. It looks the closest you can get to a zoom lens is 135mm. Is this correct? That probably rules it out if you're looking to take pics at kids baseball and football games. Opinions compated to DSLR's?

To the best of my knowledge none of the mirror less cameras out there have full frame sensors.

Just like a 50mm lens on a 1.6 crop sensor would be the equivalent of a 80mm lens.

Find out the crop factor of the camera and you will then be able to do the math to properly compare the focal length of lenses.

Micro 4/3, which is in Olympus, Panasonic, and probably others has a 2x crop which doubles the apparent field of view of a lens. A 75-300 on a M4/3 camera would have the equivalent field of view of a 150-600 lens on a full frame camera. So yes, it would be good for sports where distance is needed. A 2x teleconverter would put you at 300-1200 for that lens.

Was it that Sony RX1(?) had a FX sensor? And then there's the Lieca M9 has a FX sensor.

I like the looks and specs of the RX1, but I don't love the no EVF and the price!

I recently sold all of my DSLR gear because I just didn't use it. Too much of a hassle to tote around the heavy camera and a bagful of lenses, especially since I never made any money. Not to mention that every time my almost 4 yr old son saw the camera, he would run the other way. I need something much smaller and a little less "in your face". I'm going to get an Oly OMD when I can find a body at a good price.

Most of your DSLRs are probably going to focus faster, you'll have a greater DOF, and the sensors are smaller in the mirrorless cameras. If you are going to be photographing sports and action, a DSLR will serve you better.

Not true in all MILCs. The NEX cameras sport APS-C sensors thus get the same DoF that APS-C based DSLRs get. The Nikon 1, Micro 4/3s, and 1" sensors obviously have a more Narrow FoV and less DOF but it is a matter of opinion if its enough or not. To me more DOF is a benefit since I shoot tons of macro. It's why I am looking hard at the Nikon V2. It's almost what I want in a MILC, although it does have a mechanical shutter rated for 100k actuations. I think the V3 is going to be a jam up good camera.

I was looking at Nikon V1 or the new V2 coming out. what would the equivalent be of the 130mm lens?
