I took this picture earlier this week. This little statue was a gift some time ago, and I figured, it may be an nice subject. Not sure if this works though. Any comments? I was planning to use the picture for a 'minimalisme' assignment. Not sure how to interprete this though.

Ditto. Something about the shadow falling behind the subject makes me feel kind of depressed.

On a side note, I am not a huge fan of photographing other people's art...

Good photo anyway though.

I never even thought above having the sahdow in front of the person... Not a bad idea though, I think I like it. The shadow in the back as it is right now, looks like the women is holding her kids towards the sun. But then again, who on earth holds his/her kids like that...

Might be worth trying a horizontal flip of the image to see whether that makes a difference to the way the shadow is perceived.
