Littleman, i was about 15 - 20 feet. keep in mind i shoot everything in RAW.
 
As you can see, I was waaaayyyy closer (and am being quite cheeky :p)

I was about to ask the same thing. RAW huh....everything. So that's how you get your photos so damn crispy. Nice shot Jon.
 
RAW means that he takes the photos at the HIGHEST setting possible in the camera.... there is NO compression when you shoot RAW.
Of course this is only for digital cameras :wink:

Someone else can probably give a more technical answer... but I guess that's it in a nutshell..... haha
 
Ok Jon, a challenge for you. It's a tough one (for you), but you should be able to complete it.

Post one utterly crap, rubbish, big stinking pile of poo photo. You have until Friday.
 
Thats an amazing photo - the more I look at it, the more I like it :)
