My photos dont get comments

or over process a shot past recognition .... instant 10 pages lol.

Post your photos in the Beginners' Forum, not any of the galleries.

its not a contest but just to stack up,
...and here I was trying to make you feel good. Geez, your photos must suck.

:biglaugh:

Just kidding. I think it all depends on the day. I've quit trying to figure out the best way to get proper feedback. There is no rhyme or reason.

One thing I have stumbled upon.... the weekend is no time to post for C&C. Monday isn't much better.

... so perhaps I need a bit of wow factor in my "snap" shots

"Wow" is always good, but try asking specific questions to; if your images are neither wonderful nor awful, you may not get a lot of "C&C", but if you ask specific questions, such as: "How could I light this better?", or "How could my composition be improved?" you may find people who don't have much to say on your photos in general will stop to answer the questions.

If you have a specific objective in asking for comments, make it clear, as in "I'm experimenting with composition and I've deliberately put this image in the center and blew out the background to isolate my subject. Does it work for you?" Or something similar (heh, just read Tiredioron's comment... what he said;)). The problem is, most prospective commenters don't know whether to critique the composition, or the technical aspects, or the exposure, etc. By directing their attention to whatever you want people to see, or help you with, you'll get (usually) more response.

Usually you get comments when your photo is either really bad, or really good. If it is somewhere in the middle, you probably wont see many comments. If you put photos of pretty models, you probably get a lot of comments LOL. Thats just the way it is unless your name is erose86 ;). Responding to people's comments will help as well.

Or a HOT avatar!!!!!
:sexywink:

My history over the past three months for starting a thread with photos to view / comment on....

17 threads started
155 replies
3785 views

I don't know if that's good or bad, but it is what it is.

Seriously.......erose....=)
Post your stats up

Hot avatar=comments!!

lol :D:thumbup: (men......lol)

I know it can be very discouraging not to get views or responses but the title of your thread has a lot to do with it. I am guilty of scanning the titles & selecting ones to view from that & am likely missing some good threads. Only when a passed by thread gets a lot of hits will I check it out. I am not likely alone in this practice.

Your subject line is important, at least to me. We all have different interests & mine are in nature so if the subject is about automobiles I will pass.

Perhaps this commentary is helpful to you.

I often look and not reply because I'm new to this and not really sure I know what I'm talking about. If I post, it's usually something benign and not even worth it. I'll try to participate more. Keep posting.
