Finding the courage to post some photos here. I would appreciate your comments and critique. Equipment: Nikon D60 55-200mm kit lens

I am not a protrait type, so this is only my thoughts...

There is too much backround to the shots, distracting from the star(s).

the sun is too much on top of their heads, instead of behind the heads.

The b&w is very nice, maybe try for more bokeh and you have a winner.

Same as 3, more bokeh and there is great feelings in this shot.

I like the fact you moved them each from one side to the other.
I also noticed that you stand to the right side for all of these shots...

hm, wow. I'd be careful who you listen to. I'm no portrait photographer, but IMO these are all really nice. 4th one seems a little washed out, but that's easy enough to fix and a minor technical nit. I might have made some tiny adjustments to crop here and there, but that's mostly just a preference thing.

The look great to me.
