New to the site, and still green on the photo stuff

I've always been interested in photography ever since I got a job selling cameras at best buy, but never got into it myself. I only knew enough about the point and shoots to sale them, but that was about it. My baby boy was born Jan 2nd and I've taken over 400 pictures since then, so I guess you could say I've found a new hobby (cars were too expensive)

Here is my favorite picture of him I've taken, with a point and shoot 5mp sony and a couple copies of my attempt of editing.

Wow, way too close. Also, turn off the date thing, it is distracting. Next time, try and make it so it has a subject. Cute kid though.

Yeah, the date thing is being turned off, I was actually just snapping pics and tried to get a really nice shot of his lips, he was making a cute face and I just couldnt see to catch it and then this picture happened and i really liked it.
