Good idea. I just joined them and here the rough edits:
The first is the burn attempt, which I personally don't care for:

Here's the one done with the selection method. As mentioned above, I didn't spend a whole lot of time with it (like the colors are off slightly) but just wanted to share the concept:

I see what you are saying now... I was wondering about basically cropping out some of the brighter parts... I will keep working on it!
