There is an upside to this for the NHL players. There will probably be fewer visits to the dentist.

Well I guess that causes another problem. There may be a call for adopt-a-dentist.

Yah!!!! No hockey... They are all greedy ice skating scumballs. Will Hockey ever recover? Maybe they should start a quiet steriod movement to spark interest in their "NEW" superhuman skills...

I have nothing against hockey personally, but when the highlights come on Sportscenter I always find myself uncontrollably changing the channel.

Anybody else getting REALLY sick of all of this up-and-down hockey drama ... I mean there is more to life than hockey (sorry to any of you fellow canucks who may be offended

Funny, I feel exactly the same about basketball and (american) football.

Honestly, I never even watch espn anymore. I love my directv with the sportspack--give me SkySports News over Sportscenter anytime!

You know the NBA's cba is up next year, and they're even further apart than the NHL is/was...

A good question. Honestly, I doubt it, at least not in the next decade. I would really like to see sweeping changes in the way the league is managed.

Yeah, that is true. We all have our favorites. mine is baseball, though i am really feeling betrayed by all the steroid abuse. I thought baseball recovered. Maybe it did, but it has taken a few steps back with the steroids. I hate (Toadays) basketball. used to love it, but the league is full of overgrown children that can not think rationally. Not a great sport in my opinion.
After thnking about it, maybe it is time to give Hockey another shot

I don't like basketball for the same reason. I don't mind baseball but I can't sit and watch it. Funny thing about baseball is that the steroids are what helped bring it back from the strike season. The latest big news seems to be that everyone including the commissioner knew about the roids but did nothing because monster home runs bring in the fans.

As for hockey, the league is promising big changes once they get going again. Personally I think that the equalization that should come with a hard salary cap should help quite a bit. The problem seems obvious that a defensive "trap" style lets teams be completive with less skilled players...they have tried to think of a way to call a penalty on the trap but nobody seems to know how you could do that.
