Teaser. I put some paint to canvas this morning. This will be #2, the middle panel.

The paint is thin, almost an underpainting. The sky and water are ultramarine with titanium white. The shore is yellow ochre with a touch of cadmium yellow light. The background land is veridian with titanium and, in places, some cad yellow light and alizaron crimson.

I prefer to use cerulean as a base for the sky but the oils were purchased on a tight budget so it is a limited palette. I may get a tube, as well as a large tube of white. I'll let this dry for a couple days before I go back to it, hopefully with a couple new tubes of paint.

You're off to a great start! Plenty here to start building on. The palette is intriguing, even if limited. You have earned that tube of cerulean blue!
