picture / camera help (Casio Exilim EX-S12 )

recently a friend purchased a Casio Exilim EX-S12 .
for some reason most of the pictures i take come out like this:

the picture seems very washed and unclear
could someone who has experience with this camera please help with the settings?

Looks like a very high ISO setting.

There's an error in the exif data. The date is given as April 4th when obviously it was April 1st. ;-""
