Portrait session from today.

I set up things today to take some long overdue family pictures of my family. I would welcome some C&C on these.

I like #1 the best out of the three. But I think it might be a bit better cropped a bit closer. #2 the reflection to the top left of her head and whatever is to the right is a bit distracting. If you can clone those items out, it would be good! #3 Cute boy! The picture is a bit off of being horizontal. If you straighten it out, it would be a much better picture. Good looking family!

Thank you Charlie, I will sleep great tonight with that comment. I am loving them. It makes things much easier with that and the stand and a good reflector.

Nice work, Ron! You seem to be developing skills with off camera lighting... I have one nitpick though:

The wifey looks like she wants to rip your throat out and plant flowers in the wound.

Pretty good stuff Ron.

You do have a fairly large gap between Mom and Daughter's head. Had see tilted her head (daughter) to her left, this would have been resolved. Your outstretched leg does create a leading line, but the only problem is that it leads right to your crotch.

Something else to consider, think of pyramids when creating a group shot. You did pretty good here, but had your mouth been level with her (mom) eyes, then the tip of the pyramid would have been better built, IMO.

Overall, nicely played. Thanks for sharing.

Trust me.... If I follow my clients what background to choose, my photos would suck. Generally people like to pick a landmark and busy background (fountain, sculpture, sign, etc.) and do not think about the placement of the sun. They do not know what will photograph well. So for indoor in a house like this, try and find less busy background. Empty wall would be best. If you have things hanging on the wall, remove them. It is very easy to clone out nails on lightroom or photoshop.
