Hi guys

Here are some photos extracted from my portrait work. What do you think about the models and the photos? Taken in Sydney.

2 and 3 have leg length issues that make them unbelievable. Of course, these are fashion/product type photos, yet still...the woman with the black mini dress looks like she would wear pants with a 1.2 meter inseam length...I mean..that leg she is standing on is sooooooooooooooo long that it kind of distracts from that stylish case/purse/"thing" she is holding...but then of course, these images DO "catch the eye".

I dunno...there's always a fine line between the cutting edge and the bleeding edge, and always an envelope that needs pushing...always boundaries that need to be broken down! These images are highly stylized, and they are pretty good, and they are most assuredly images that people will PAUSE to look at. At that my man, these days, is saying something in this image-saturated, noisy world! My comments are of course, just one person's opinion! I do enjoy the helicopter shot...heli's seem to be "in" this year...

I could see why some may like them, but honestly, they aren't my style.

For #1, the bright blue light adds nothing to the photo and only accentuates that the models eyes are dark.
For #2, the blown highlights in the trees blend too well with the models face and the distortion is out of this world.
For #3, I don't see anything technically wrong other than the cut off dress, but it's not my style. For me, it would be oversaturated and oversharpened. But again, that is just me.

Perhaps, these are just a bit too 'high fashion' for a simple guy like me to appreciate.

I really don't know how to critique fashion posing but in # 2 her loooonnggg leg looks twisted. I think if her foot position wasn't directed right at the camera it would have been better.

Seriously, how is she even standing!

But hey, better than anything I can do so a big thumbs up from me!

this i sick, man. very intense photos. imho, you can talk all day about technicalities such as framing, proper exposure and such but those remain technicalities only. i think what matters the most in fashion photography is the intensity, attitude and whether the first thing the viewer thinks is "wow"; and that's what i thought when saw them.

technically speaking, i love the colours and composition. excellent strobism in the first photo. great job combining warm and cold colours in the first and third photos.

in the second one, the model's right side of face is overexposed (probably due to light reflecting off of smoke). i'd look out for that in the future.

there is also an unnecessary highlight in the BG on the tram(street car thing) in the third photo, which grabs your attention for no good reason and throws off the flow of the picture. and it would probably be better if both of her legs would be on the ground, but then how would you make the skirt float in the air like that. btw the models have almost the same pose in the last two photos so it's a bit repetitive.

but this is great work overall. i like these a lot.

I just spent several minutes looking at #2 trying to figure out the body mechanics. My conclusion is that if I tried to pose like that I'd probably end up in hospital ... but then my legs aren't quite as attractive so I'm unlikely to be asked to try.

#3 also took some study; love the colours in that one.

Not sure if I like the hi fashion style or not, but I'm not in the high fashion market so that's not important. You certainly grabbed my attention. :thumbup:

I'm going out on a limb here based on previous posts, but these are not photos you have taken. Just like your other posts that have been removed from the forum, these are just images taken from other photographers portfolios on SydPhoto.com.au. You lost any credibility when you made the other posts.

Bad form dude........ not to meniton violating the forum rules.
