Well, here it is, the first portrait to show that my home made mini studio is up and running, obviously, it's me :/

Lighting is strange and the pose is awkward. Too square to the camera. Not a feminine pose. Skin tones are a bit "harsh" (hard to describe, almost as if you tried to work on removing trouble spots in post production, but failed). I'm not sure what's going on with your shirt. Your left shoulder vanishes into the background unnaturally. The background is underexposed and it appears you added vignettes which are not flattering.

Your bright colored hair is really make the rest of you washed out.

Sorry. I'm not thrilled with this shot. Just my $0.02. YMMV.

Hey no problem, glad for the critique, it was a quick test of the mini studio I've set up, only got one strobe, on camera for the moment, everything I have is made out of house hold items! Was seeing if I could do it really.

In terms of posing etc, I hate being that side of the camera so was really awkward, will be better when I get a willing victim to test it on!

Haha thank you, got worried then! I'm currently reading up on posing etc, it's all a learning curve eh?!

If she wants to pose in a non-traditional manner for a woman, I say more power to her. It's her damn face.

And it's a nice face, btw, OP.

I dig the hair color. I think the light is a bit too hot on the face, under the glasses, and maybe too even as well. Some shadows would add dimension, although you may get accused of being to masculine. You know, us womens need to be photographed like we are babies and all (rolls eyes).

The problem I found was the harsh shadows my glasses gave underneath, so I shopped them out. Think I may need a reflector either at the side or on top to even it a bit.
