Can others edit my Photos
Photos OK to edit
Ok this will be my first model shoot. My ex will be the model. I have always had a thing for her and we have a huge bet going on. She is gorgeous. She looks a lot like Brooke Burke. She is very camera shy and doesn't think she looks good in photos which is ridiculous. I bet her I cn get a photo where she looks stunning post it somewhere for critique and people will agree that she is stunning and could model. So I need help with lighting as that is my weak point. I have a flash with optical slave. I am picking up a reflector and stand for it and a second flash for my camera. What else should I buy or bring for pin up style photos? The bet isn't on my photo skills as much as pulling off her good looks. Also she is Asian. She doesn't look it as far as features but skin tone if that has an effect on lighting. Thanks.

High heels and pasties would be nice to have, for her. Some pastries for you would also be good, maybe some bear claws. Shoot with the flash bounced off of a wall or ceiling. Experiment. Once you find lighting that works, go with it. A bathtub filled with some green or blue water from colored bath salts is always intriguing.

The lighting set-up depends in large part on the poses and final style that you want. You've said 'pin-up', so does that mean classic Varga style (which is generally high-key, difficult to do with a single speed light), or ??? There is some excellent reading here, and after that I would suggest searching the Internet for terms like portrait lighting' and 'studio lighting'' until you find a 'site with a look like that which you want to acheive.

:lmao: Someone is trying to get back in his ex's panties....lol Good luck!! :sexywink:
I can't wait to see what you come up w/.....=)

No its not so much a panty thing. I am going for Varga style with a rockabilly attitude. Also some classic 50s style sexy housewife type photos. I am not looking to do boudoir photos. As I said I am picking up a second flash.

I suppose I shouldn't ask the question, but who's the audience for the end-result - you, her, or someone else? That may affect how you go about this.

It's for me and her except for 1 photo we choose together to post for feedback of her modeling ability. I will be using some to start building a portfolio but mostly just for us. I am going for classic style with a hint of sultry. Not over the top sexpot. She is a seamstress and her entire wardrobe is pin up and classic 50s dresses and she offered to sow the clothing for my shoots and I said you need to model them. That's how this came about.

So... She's use this to show her dresses, and modelling ability if it works out, and you have a chance to build up your portfolio with an attractive woman... Seems good. You'll still need her to sign a release if you will be showing these photos around, I suspect. I'd think that tirediron's suggestion is a good one. Perhaps the starting point would be to search out some suitable images on the internet and then discuss how to achieve the same look or effect. There have been several threads on this very subject within the past three months, and some good discussion. You know how to find them.

Something like this but no dogs. That's the style I am going for not sexpot but classic with a subtle sexiness. I will dig up some threads. If anyone can give me tips on the lighting I would need to achieve this as I have some gear to purchase.

Deconstructing the lights/shadows in that image, I am guessing a main light (softbox) upper left, split light on right (also in softbox), third light focused on backgound, and fourth light aimed at the floor. However, I'm a portaiture noob, so someone else should probably step up with a more precise description.

My ex-wife is a 6ft tall former volleyball player. Stunningly beautiful and can still fit into her college volleyball uniform at 49 (looks 35). I have never asked to model for me but I did invite her to go fishing with me. She was all up for it but started to change her mind when she found the insurance policy in my truck. Once she saw the shackles and chains I had in the boat she completely backed out.

To give you an idea. My ex is the one on the right. She is wearing a dress she made. This was Halloween so the make up is a little over the top. It's just a snapshot but will give you an idea of what she looks like if it helps.

I wouldn't necessarily go Brooke Burke with her lol.... she's cute tho good luck!

You have to see her with her hair down naturally curly and without the makeup. People stop her on the street thinking she is Brooke Burke.
