I went out again this evening hoping for a hunting shot. Still no luck. I tried to keep my iso down by using slow shutter speeds

I shot this one at 1/40 sec

1/50 sec

1/400

Agreed - #3 is the winner for me. The contrast of the lightness of the bird against the deep blues of the sky is quite stunning.

Yup I'm on the bandwagon for #3. All are great but the blues in #3 are killer.

Great shots! Love #3. Owls, one of the very few birds you can use that kind of shutter speed with. I should make sure I remember that should the need arise.
