Tamron 28-300 XR lens?

Anybody have any thoughts or advice in regards to the new Tamron 28-300 XR lenses?

Got one myself and love it!
Here's a couple of shots taken at max. and min. zoom that I posted when I first got the camera and lens.
Please allow for the smog, dust etc.:

Wow! That is exactly the kind of range I am looking for. Such a pain switching lenses in the middle of things and you generally miss shots if you dont and sometimes during the switch. Would be so much easier to be all in one. Do you find that you get any or much distortion at the wide angle setting?

Honestly, I've never really examined it that closely but check out the pic, it looks OK to me.
