This is another image from the abandoned line cabin in Comb Wash. Playing with depth of field, and a small detail. Interested to hear your thoughts.

I like it quite a bit. Good use of white & blk', nice tones, sharp up front with a good fade on it going back which shows a background that's in focus just enough to know what you're seeing. That nail sticking outward gives me the chills, though. (bad childhood memory about a rusty nail)

A rh crop to loose the desert background just have the wood texture

I like this shot.

The eye is immediately drawn to the wood texture and nails, then the wall and descending roof line to the horizon; natures vanishing point.

In my opinion the depth of field is a key element of this photo.

For C&C purposes:

Crop out the RH side with the desert. It draws my eye away from the nail.
The DoF is on the nail itself, but IMO not enough bokhe to distort and mitigate out the background.

Though the foreground with the wood texture and planing looks really nice in contrast tot eh metal smoothness of the nail and its rust flaking.

Only because the nail behind the front one is slightly out of focus, cropping the image down a bit will def. help.

its a good shot overall with some nice tones.
if you leave a small sliver of desert for light contrast it might help but could be distracting as framing.
