The Coffee House

Did a stupid thing.

Was shooting sunset over a lake in the mountains this past weekend. Had my 18/70 zoom on, turned the zoom ring and it released from the body, slipped out of my hand, bounced off the handrail and into 30 feet of water under the bridge I was standing on.

Seems it was not locked on and splash, sigh.

I stood there watching the bubbles as it settled into its new permanent home.

So, I put my 24 prime on, after stepping back from the rail, and finished the shoot.

Most expensive photos I’ve ever taken.

Awww cry for you

I've had a full week, Sunday -Tuesday, a couple we've been friends and neighbors with for years brought their motorhome over to our lake place. Even though we see each other frequently, it was nice to just sit and relax without the daily distractions.

Wednesday Lil'Bit spent the day with us. She's in a growing spurt this summer, seems like she's changing before my eyes.

Today is my weekly "Old Men With Grown Children" Church lunch group. We have a diverse group of men from a couple of doctors, businessmen, a retired college professor, couple of retired Pastors, and a semi retired Author of religious books. We solve a lot of world problems. LOL

Friday the kids are taking us out to a late lunch/early supper for Father's Day, at one of my favorite restaurants.

Saturday if the weather permits I'm planning on a little fishing. I have a new rod/reel coming in today, that I want to try out.

Sunday after Church I might just become a lump in the recliner.😉

In-laws are visiting. Golf on Sunday early because the heat and humidity have arrived, but just chilling the rest of the time. MIL and Wife are "organizing" the house... which reminds me, I've got to go secure what I don't want thrown out...

Hide it!!!

(Not that I'm familiar with such in-depth "organization" that can lead to missing things...):biggrinangelA:

Oh man that sucks, sorry that happened to you. No chance of recovery and repair? Was it fresh water or salt?

Had a near miss myself this weekend with my X-T5. We were moving from one location to another so I just layed the tripod with camera mounted across the back seat of my car. When I went to take it out the camera caught on the roof and came off the tripod. Landed in front of me. It was a noisy s-I’ll but I lucked out that it was a sandy parking lot by the beach so no damage. It must not have been fully locked onto the tripod so it was pure chance that it didn’t fall off earlier while I was walking with it over my shoulder.

That sinking feeling... and that split second thought of, "I might be able to retrieve it..." before common sense kicks and and says, "Or drown..."

I literally gasped out loud. That sucks, sorry :(

Aww, Rick that's awful... not a stupid thing, more an unfortunate (to say the least) accident. I can't imagine...

Smoke, sounds like some nice plans, enjoy when you finally land in the recliner! lol

Just finished an enjoyable art class online, one more session til done for the summer. More people today, everybody getting back on for the last couple of virtual studio sessions I think - no wonder it ends for the summer, can tell the difference this time of year!

Saw a headline about helping to name a new baby sloth 'pup' at the zoo. No hurry is there??! lol as slow as they move...

I met up with a few ladies and went on a topless ride today. Nah, get your minds out of the gutter; Jeeps without tops. I did get a couple snaps, but the camera is still in the truck.

Thought at first this was a GoFundMe pitch for bail money.
