Snowed again overnight. Just a dusting this time. Still spitting a bit out there now, 33*F so not cold enough for snow but too cold to be anything but uncomfortable

Yup. Ice everywhere with a touch of freezing rain. Flooding/ponding advisory thanks to a freakish temp rise and heavy rain tomorrow. Lovely...Antidote: more flower and veg seeds just landed. Seed stratification/ winter sowing experiments underway.

As Snowbear reported, I was fine in the storm, just had to manually shovel since my little snowblower couldn't keep up. All the snow fell overnight so I didn't have a chance to do multiple passes of the driveway. But I burned mad calories and I had two snow days from work and then another working from home, so it's all good :lol:

Work has been one urgent deadline after another this semester, the next one being the end of next week, so after that, I hope to be able to come up for air much more often.

In the meantime, I'm enjoying the continuation of the 'in like a lion' portion of March.

What a difference a few miles make. 77 was the high here. Just came in from mowing for the first time this year. Trees and flowers starting to bloom. So much for a gradual spring for us.

Sympathy. Spent way too much quality time with the snowblower in early '26. It slashed doom scrolling and endeared me to buried neighbors who graciously re-up'd my bar cart.

In other parts of the world where people tend to look forward to the end of the big freeze - like say, in Michigan! - we've lost all our snow. Rain, rain, and more rain - it's welcomed, because it cleared out the yard and now there are some little buds starting to assert themselves.

This weekend, we're supposed to be in the 60's and *maybe* touch 70F on Sunday - but we'll see. I'm happy with it being warm enough to rain, clear out the yard, see the buds, and now look forward to some sunshine. We are being told it will be an early Spring around here, but the critters have been letting me know just by who is showing up and how quickly they're tearing into the suet. :lol:

Darn near 90 today in Atlanta, and the dogwood trees are in full blossom which is weird. They are a month early.

Nice spring morning, sitting on the deck drinking my coffee and listening to the ducks/geese with their morning chatter, as they via for their territory of water.

Last night's movie selection was a rerun of La La Land. Despite its "Chick Flick" tag, its really not that bad.

Good morning, hosers.
We had a dusting Thursday night into yesterday morning. MLSIL and I left for MD about 08:00 and it was lightly snowing. Roads were wet but the temp was below freezing so the ME, NH and MA state highway plows were out salting and scraping the shoulders. The majority of what was hitting the windshield was road sprayso the wipers didn't do a great job, leaving residue in areas. I ran out of wiper fluid by the time I got to CT. Passed one jack-knifed truck on the way,, between Lowell and Worcester, MA but pretty uneventful otherwise. We rolled into MD about 8:30 PM.

I took the Honda so mileage was good. Filled up at home and got all the way to New Jersey Turnpike before fueling up again. Waze routed us to Cuomo / Tappan Zee bridge, north of NYC rather than GW bridge, I guess because of traffic. Home to here is around 530 miles / 853 km.

We got here and found the Internet and CATV are down. I reset the modem but still no connection. The tech should be here within the next couple of hours. I'll get the POTM voting posted in a little bit.

CATV & Internet came back a while ago. The issue ended up being ne of the other close-by points in the chain.
I'm going to be living in the low to mid 70s this week (low to mid 20s C); glad I packed a pair of shorts and left all but one flannel shirt home!

I got an email for "Fine Woodworking New England," a two day swap meet/show and seminar in Connecticutt. I'm seriously considering going for one day. About 3-1/2 hours drive but not out of reach.
