Still snow on the ground here except in those spots that get a lot of sun. It’s been warm so it should all be gone by mid week. 60’s tomorrow and Tuesday. The backyard is a mud fest where it’s melted. Heading to the beach with some friends and our dogs for a mid day outing tomorrow because we can! But also because the trails are too muddy for an enjoyable hike. We’ve been to the beach twice in the past week, each time it’s been a bit warmer.

We're having similar temps here - our snow is completely gone due to the warmth and lots of recent rain. Sunny for the next few days - I'll take it!

I was grubbing around today looking for hopeful signs and found these:

They've migrated a bit but that's okay. Last year they were very late coming up, so this makes me happy.

MLSIL and I went to Virginia to visit the uncle who suffered a stroke a couple weeks ago. He's doing well, though he still hassome memory issues. He's going to sell the W VA house and move in with one of his daughters (The Nieces I ocasionally mention); three of whom are in the same general areaof VA. About an 80 minute drive; I had the sunroof open. If I'd had the truck I'd have had the top panels off and would have considered taking off the doors!

I popped up the ring camera and I can see a little grass! I'm not sure if we are in store for any of the final winter bash coming. I'm planning on going back Thursday., and might venture out to another lighthouse or go see the Andre the Seal statue in Rockport the following week.

Pushing 70°f/21°c today so they say. There's still snow in odd places where it drifts deep and little sunlight. Noticed last night daffodils pushing up. Haven't noticed any crocus yet.

A great day at the beach with our dog posse. 65° and sunny with barely any breeze, it was beautiful. Pretty much had the mile long beach to ourselves.

@SquarePeg You're lucky, it's very hard to find a dog friendly beach along the gulf coast, and when you do, it's because nobody wants to go there anyhow.

Hiya Folks! Spring has sprung very early here. 86F/30C today. The still scraggly Major Wheeler is popping flowers, the Redbuds are in bloom, and the nasty Bradford Pears are about to blossom. We've had a very long Mountain Cedar season, which has been making my eyes itch horribly, but I guess that is the trade-off. Didn't get to play outside this weekend due to rain and soggy ground, but I'm hopeful for next weekend. I'll have to pull out the mower to keep the HOA from sending me a reminder letter that their is a height limit for the weeds along the outside of the back fence. Anybody else getting beat up by this time change?

@SquarePeg You're lucky, it's very hard to find a dog friendly beach along the gulf coast, and when you do, it's because nobody wants to go there anyhow.

Most public beaches here are dog friendly from 10/1-3/31. Technically they should be on leash but when the beach is empty no one cares. I keep a 30’ leash in my car just in case… there’s a great dog friendly beach in southern Maine that allows dogs on leash all summer - we used to go there a lot when Princess was little and we had our papillon. He would lay on our blanket and chill all day but Harlie would not enjoy that type of lazy day. Maybe when she’s a bit older.

Two days ago it was boots with YakTrax to stay upright. Today, sockless trail runners. Gotta love Spring. Problem is, though, 5-10cm of snow forecast for Thurs. Jeesh...The kid gassed up the snowblower just to rub it in.
