Tired self portrait.. One-light

So yesterday I was a bit bored and though I would set up a portrait shot next to my desk.
This was what came out of the camera.
I was a bit tired, so thats probably why I look like I'm tired.

This is the settings I used:
Shot Tethered in Lightroom 4.3
Nikon D800
1/250s f/13 ISO100 50mm (50mm F1.8D)
One Elinchrom strobe through softbox over camera.

So tried another one today with the same setup. Just a little different PP in lightroom.
Kinda wanted to give it a "polarish" feel.
What do you think?

Not bad. The lighting is good. I think it's over sharpened a bit but not too bad.

I think the detail is incredible, very nice job. Im also glad you chose black and white, I don't think this picture would've came out better in any tone or color.

Thank you! I think the oversharpening-thing is that the D800 + 50mm f1.8 produces some insanely sharp images.
When I downscale the photo from 36mp to 2000px on the longest edge it seems to get oversharpened.

Yes indeed. I shot one Elinchrom strobe through a softbox at probably a 45 degree angle just above the camera.
