Upload graphics files to camera?

If the problem is metadata, I would copy&paste the map image onto an already existent, camera generated, image. Possibly using some very basic software (on Mac I would directly use Preview, nothing more).

EDIT: tested, it functions. Shot a random picture in Auto (to have it in JPEG format), and pasted a map using Preview, on the image open directly on card (but I do not think it makes difference). On Canon 1000D/Rebel Xs.

Won't work on Nikon... been there, tried that.

Your technique sounds promising, edzodm, but I can't "paste" or "import image" in my Preview. If I do it in Pshop, the merged image won't display on either camera.

which version of Mac OSX? in 10.6 (not sure before), Preview allows to paste into images. I opened the map picture, selected an area (having chosen the "selection" tool, command-3), copied (command-C), then opened the camera picture and pasted (and in my case moved, since size was much smaller); then saved. I would not use more complex software because it is likely it modifies something more.

No more calls, we have a winner! Switching to a 10.6 Mac somehow did the trick and I can view the map pasted into another jpg on the Lumix. You da man, enzodm -- many thanks :thumbup: :thumbup: :mrgreen:
