Only 100 - 120 here in New Zealand, so enjoy what you have ;)

Here we call them a white Heron, you will know them as a Great Egret. Where I am in the north island we have just the one and it goes by the name of "George" or it could be a George-gina :) So here's George

Sony NEX-7 and Canon FD 500 F/4.5L and the Canon FD 100-300 F/5.6L

All the best folks and you won't see too many of these from here :)

By George! These are awesome. I especially like #5. Lee

Some beautiful shots of George, that's for sure! That all-white look is beautiful, but it can be the dickens to expose right in camera, and you've done a beautiful job of it, in a variety of lighting conditions.

Top Notch shots with George. Hopefully they populate.

They'll need to bring George a Henrietta if they hope to make THAT happen!

#5,#6 & #7 are just awesome. Kris posted something very similar to #5 today. I'm sure someone else said it earlier, but a competition between you two would be worth watching for sure! ;)

#2 is my fav. Great natural light.

Love #5.. my stlye :) Interesting seeing them without their Green face when they are in breeding mode... Do you have Snowy Egrets in NZ?

Thanks folks. Its something we just don't have enough of and when I see what some of you take with these, I'm in awe :)

acparson, they eat rats. Well I never even thought of it, but yep, why wouldn't they I guess ;) Amazing and would love a shot of that behaviour !!.

Kris, no snowy Egrets, this is all we have down here. Aussie has a few more and that's where these originated from way back when. They moved into stay but I sure wish the numbers would grow. Yeah I love it when a breeze kicks in and the feathers get ruffled ;), its a great look as long as you have your shutter speed high enough.

Ahhh another one of that

Hey, thanks again folks, really appreciated and lets hope the numbers crow for sure.
